Flight of Fancy Bohéme Slip Dress
What we can dream, we can do — against all odds! Hummingbirds are tiny beings of wonder. Weighing less than a nickel, they are the only bird that can fly backwards as well as forwards, and have the largest hearts relative to body size in the entire animal world. Symbols of hope, healing, and luck, hummingbirds are also sometimes said to represent well-wishings from loved ones — both here and departed. A flock of hummingbirds is called a glitter or a shimmer — or a bouquet! The bouquet in our exuberant print was created using a collage of breathtakingly beautiful floral paintings from the 1700’s. It includes several works by artist Rachel Ruysch, who is considered by historians to be one of the most talented still-life artists of all time, and who was the first ever female member inducted into The Hague's prestigious painter's society.
The adjustable straps, oversized cut, and soft, flowy bamboo viscose make our Bohéme dresses a wardrobe staple for layering, running errands, dancing, lounging or napping — and they’re also a must-have for travel, wherever you roam. You can also wear this piece two ways, with the butterfly on the front of the bodice, or the back — depending on your mood. Shown worn with the matching Flight of Fancy Opera Duster sold separately.
Please note: The nature of our soft bamboo/wood viscose means it’s slightly sheer, so we recommend layering it with our Étoile slip (or any other slip you have) when wearing it with bare legs. Our models in the photos are wearing the dresses without a slip.
100% viscose (derived from plant fibres such as bamboo and wood). Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Iron to finish if needed.
Adjustable straps. Dress measurements: S/M — length 132cm at shortest strap adjustment, 142cm at longest. Width 52cm (across bust, underarm to underarm), 54cm (across waist seam). L/XL — 134 cm length at shortest strap adjustment, 144cm at longest. Width 57cm (across bust, underarm to underarm), 59 cm (across waist seam).

It’s gorgeous, but a little darker and more muted than I’d hoped. The length works for me (petite at 5’ 2”) and I love that it’s reversible. Fabric is thin but luxurious and it flows nicely. The print is just not as vivid as I would prefer.
This is my second slip dress and I want alllllll of the patterns! Feels like you're wearing nothing - it's so light and breezy. It can be glammed up or down - perfect versatility. I was a bit worried about sizing (L/XL is not something I'd normally reach for), but thankfully I had a chance to try it on in person - I normally wear a 16/18 dress size, but with the loose design, it still fits! Check the sizing and measurements carefully, and you may be surprised.
The print on this dress is beautifully done and although its not really a fitted design, it is quite flattering. I ordered the M/L and it fits perfectly. I am 5'8" and 165lb for reference. I have my own black slip, but I might get the Market of Stars slip that is designed to coordinate with their slip dresses.
Love this dress. It’s soft and lightweight and it feels so good on!
Absolutely stunning. Quality fabric feels luxurious on my skin. I bought this to go with the long duster. I get so many compliments. It's been a wonderful experience right from when my parcel arrived. The packaging was exquisite as well. I can't wait for the fall prints. I already have my eye on a cpl.
