Born to Run Bohème Slip Dress
All good things are wild and free! Created to celebrate the unbridled spirit of adventure, Born to Run blends vintage-washed, heritage prints with the untamed energy of two rearing racehorses by British painter George Stubbs. The antique banners, etched with mottos of rebellion like “Don’t Fence Me In”, are our spirited nod to the wild west and the open road. The beautiful, airy backdrop behind the horses is actually a scenic lithograph from the 1897 World’s Fair, and the faded florals and golden wheat were taken from an 1800’s farmers diploma. The pen-and-ink stars and upturned horseshoe are also antique drawings from the same era. And as a final, playful touch, we added a prancing mother horse and foal — a symbol of unbound freedom and joy. The bodice and trim is a washed heritage plaid, reminiscent of sun-faded chambray and days at home on the range :)
The adjustable straps, oversized cut, and soft, flowy bamboo viscose make our Bohéme dresses a wardrobe staple for layering, running errands, dancing, lounging or napping — and they’re also a must-have for travel, wherever you roam. Like all of our slip dresses, this piece is reversible! It also pairs beautifully with the matching Born to Run Opera Duster (available separately).
Please note: The nature of our soft bamboo/wood viscose means it’s slightly sheer, so we recommend layering it with our Étoile slip (or any other slip you have) when wearing it with bare legs. Our model in the photos is wearing the dress without a slip.
100% viscose (derived from plant fibres such as bamboo and wood). Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Iron to finish if needed.
