Created to honour and celebrate life’s true riches — Stay Gold is a heartfelt reminder to let your worth be measured by the love you give and receive. One of our most vibrant and joyful designs ever, it combines several antique illustrations — including a vintage seed catalogue lithograph from Rochester New York, gentle rabbits from a historical zoological encyclopedia, and whimsical scrolls & banners from an 1815 English hand painted sign. The golden bees on the trim are part of an embossed book cover from the Victorian era. The phrase “love is the only gold”, and the words “stay gold” on the banners at the shoulders are a powerful message of what really matters! Stay true to yourself and share your kindness with the world — you will be all the richer for it :)

100% viscose (derived from plant fibres such as wood and bamboo). Machine wash gentle or handwash and hang to dry. Iron to finish if needed.

Kimono measurements: length 58cm, width (across back, underarm to underarm) 74cm. Model is 5’8” for reference.

More Inspo

My inspiration for our designs here at Market of Stars comes from everywhere — museums, books, late-night conversations, travel, music — but sometimes it comes from an even deeper place. I designed the Stay Gold collection during a time when I was really struggling to balance being a sensitive, heart-centred person with running a business — two sides of my creative life that don’t always make easy friends with each other. I sat in the garden one morning after a sleepless night and just watched the bees for awhile — marvelling at their industriousness, captivated by the gentle, tender way they visited each flower. I saw in those moments so clearly how the bees moved in a perfect dance of purpose and beauty, how their work was also their joy. And I knew it was my joy too. That morning I began creating the print that became Stay Gold, and let myself get lost in the magic of it — the sun-kissed colours, the whimsical bunnies, and the golden warmth of the bumblebees. I hope when you see it and wear it, you can feel the love.

Our Garden at Dusk

You wear these golden hours
like a cloak. Love
is lawless but for the golden rule,
my hands are tender and tend.
I bring you a book
and favourite wine glass
etched with flowers.

I can outlove you.
Your ceaseless roses,
labor of bees, rabbits bedding down
in nests of grass.
Heat held in soil, the earth and I.
We will hold the summer of you
as long as we can.

I cannot say how much I love this garment

I cannot say how much I love this garment. I am a bigger person and I was afraid it wouldn't fit but it fits beautifully. The colours are rich, the pattern is extraordinary and the fabric is lovely to wear. And who doesn't love bunnies!
